How to Disassemble the 1464 Galaxy

This guide provides detailed instructions for disassembling the 1464 Galaxy. These steps apply to both the stand and wall-mounted models, with minor differences for the wall-mounted version due to its positioning. The process allows access to components such as the control board, electric switch, and drive belt. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.

Preparation

  1. Unplug the Unit: Ensure the 1464 Galaxy is unplugged from any power source to prevent electrical hazards.

Tools Needed

  • Number 1 or 2 Phillips screwdriver

  • 13 mm wrench (or adjustable wrench)

  • Torx driver (number 10, star-shaped bit)

Steps to Disassemble the 1464 Galaxy

1. Remove the Outer Cover

  1. Locate and remove the two Phillips screws securing the cover with the ring assembly bolt. Use a number 1 or 2 Phillips screwdriver.

  2. Carefully lift and set aside the head assembly:

    • Align the notch on the head assembly with the set screw at the top.

    • Loosen and remove the set screw to detach the head assembly.

2. Remove the Small Bottom Cover

  1. Unscrew the four Phillips screws located at the bottom corners of the small cover.

  2. Slide the cover downward and away to remove it completely.

3. Loosen the Front Panel Screws

  1. Identify the four screws on the front panel:

    • Three screws are standard Phillips screws.

    • One screw is a number 10 Torx screw.

  2. Use the appropriate tools to remove these screws. Ensure you use a Torx driver for the Torx screw to avoid damaging it.

4. Remove the Back Panel Screws

  1. Locate the two small screws inside the notches on the back panel.

  2. Remove these screws using a Phillips screwdriver.

5. Separate the Back Panel

  1. Gently lift off the back panel to expose the internal components, including:

    • Control panel

    • Electrical switch

    • Drive belt

Tips for Handling Components
  • Document the Wiring: Before replacing the electrical switch, take a photo of the wiring setup. This will help ensure accurate reconnection during reassembly.

  • Handle with Care: Work gently to avoid damaging any internal components.

Reassembly

Reassembly follows the reverse order of disassembly:

  1. Reattach the back panel, securing it with the screws.

  2. Reinstall the small cover and secure it with the four bottom screws.

  3. Reattach the head assembly:

    • Align the notch with the set screw and tighten it.

  4. Secure the outer cover with the two Phillips screws.

By following these steps, you can safely disassemble and reassemble the 1464 Galaxy for maintenance or repairs.
