Assembling the Veeco Aristette II Dryer - Model 3524S

This step-by-step guide walks you through the assembly process for the 3524 Aerostat Dryer Stand’s knuckle assembly and dryer mounting. While the base assembly is not covered here (refer to a separate video for that), this tutorial ensures that you properly install the knuckle assembly and attach the dryer securely to the stand.

Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions

1. Prepare and Inspect the Parts

  1. Verify you have all necessary components before starting:

    • Knuckle assembly

    • Two cover pieces (cable cover and bottom cover)

    • Screw for mounting the dryer to the knuckle assembly

    • Thumb screw for securing the dryer

  2. Check the orientation of the knuckle assembly:

    • Ensure the hole in the knuckle assembly is pointed toward the front of the stand.

    • Confirm the visibility of the hole where the thumb screw will be inserted later.

2. Assemble the Knuckle Assembly

  1. Top Cover Installation:

    • Identify the top cover piece, which has a button and a recess.

    • Position the button toward the dryer and align the recess to fit over the knuckle assembly.

  2. Bottom Cover Installation:

    • Locate the bottom cover. Ensure the thicker side of the cover aligns with the back of the assembly.

    • Position the cover so it aligns with the hole in the knuckle assembly.

3. Attach the Covers

  1. Invert the assembly and align the holes of the top and bottom covers with the knuckle assembly.

  2. Slide the covers down, ensuring the holes are properly lined up.

  3. Secure the assembly:

    • Insert the screw through the slot and into the aligned holes.

    • Use a screwdriver to tighten the screw snugly (not overly tight to avoid damaging the plastic).

4. Install the Thumb Screw

  1. Locate the thumb screw and slide it into the tube of the stand.

  2. Position the dryer head over the wheels and rotate it to align the thread opening with the hole in the knuckle assembly.

  3. Insert and tighten the thumb screw by hand. Ensure it is tight enough to hold the dryer but not overly tight.

5. Final Adjustments

  1. Test the assembly by tilting the dryer back and forth to confirm proper movement and stability.

  2. Ensure the dryer is securely attached and ready for use.

Your 3524 Aerostat Dryer Stand is now fully assembled and ready for operation!
